Thursday ritual?

It's raining here in Chicago. Hallelujah! My lawn, flowers and trees are thankful for the drink. I'm thankful too - means, I do not have to spend my evening watering! Rain is free and again, I am all about the free.

I have not had much to write about as I have been trying to keep up with my half year resolutions. So far so good! The dog has been on many happy walks with me and the hubby, I have spent lots of time with the kids doing fun stuff and I have also spent time reading books for fun and enjoying scrapbooking too. All in all, it has been a good start to the 2nd half of 2008.

Kids started school last Wednesday. It was a rough start for my youngest but he is loving school now. My oldest is having a great time in school too. WHEW! I'm thankful they are happy and having fun. My fingers hurt because I am learning to play the guitar. That has been fun. So far I know the first string and one note on the second string! Leaps and bounds people, leaps and bounds. My teeth hurt because I got braces on yesterday (Invisalign are the greatest). This will surely give me the motivation to cut out snacking as I have to take these things out to eat. Taking them out is not the big deal but putting the torture devices back in is something to consider since it really hurts! My teeth are sore but I am excited to see the finished product in February when I'm done!

Well, it is time to say good bye to tank tops and flip flops and hello to cuddling with loved ones and great big bowls of soup. It's still summer for another two weeks but with school starting and the weather starting to turn, it is feeling more like autumn with each passing day.

I hope everyone had a rockin' summer! Here's to a great 2008/2009 school year for students and teachers alike!

Savor every moment!
God bless!
Sandy
