... but why are people so mean when someone dies? I wish people would show respect before they type whatever is on their mind. I understand the anonymity that replying to an article, tweet or blog under a made up name allows you but it does not negate human decency. Or does it?
We are so accustomed to immediate gratification and being 'ourselves' that no one stops to think that maybe 'yourself' is not really a good person. I believe more people should stop and take a look inside. Maybe our society could turn itself around if more people did that.
There are plenty of topics I have strong opinions on and I try my best when sharing said opinions to only apply my opinion to me. It is not my intention to make fun of anyone or demean them in any way. I believe late night talk show hosts have cornered the market on that one. Perhaps that is another reason for the way people think these days. Long gone are the hosts like Johnny Carson. Yes, he made fun but it was not mean. Jimmy Kimball, Conan O'Brien and, in some cases, even Jay Leno are just downright mean. I know people who let their young kids watch these guys. What are we teaching our children? I don't allow my kids to watch shows like that or Family Guy or Southpark but other parents do which means their kids share it with my kids. And my kids say that isn't nice and are made fun of. Again, what are we teaching our kids?
Everyone has the right to their opinion but we should be civil about it. I would say 9 times out of 10, I keep my opinion to myself simply because it's not worth the fight with someone I don't know. Unfortunately, not everyone operates with the same filter I do.
My prayers and blessings to all those who are lost, have lost and those playing with the angels.
God Bless
Sandy
